INTRODUCTION – ODOP INITIATIVE
Overview:
The One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative aims to promote and develop a unique product from each district of a region, fostering economic growth, local employment, and cultural heritage.
Vision & Mission:
Boost local economies by identifying and promoting district-specific products. Enhance manufacturing and export of identified products. Improve the livelihoods of local artisans and producers. Promote sustainable and inclusive growth. The key features of the ODOP initiative include a focus on district specialization, where each district is recognized for a unique product or cluster.
The program emphasizes value addition by supporting product design, branding, and marketing to enhance market appeal. Skill development initiatives provide training programs for artisans and entrepreneurs to improve their expertise and productivity. Financial support is extended through subsidies, loans, and grants to empower producers. Additionally, market linkages are established to facilitate access to both domestic and international markets, ensuring wider reach and recognition for these district-specific products.
